Perhaps you can’t attend the practice through poor mobility or ill health? Perhaps you care for an elderly person who doesn’t enjoy driving? We can arrange to visit private homes and care homes, and these trips are typically funded by the NHS.
We’ll begin by taking your medical and vision history. Using portable charts, we’ll measure how sharp or clear your vision is. Using handheld tools, we’ll check your eyes for issues like cataracts or glaucoma.
We might suggest glasses, bringing a range of frames for you to try. We’ll come back to fit and adjust, and perhaps also recommend visual aids. We might spot ways to improve lighting for close work if you like reading or doing crafts. Our goal is to deliver good eye care for everybody. Sometimes that’s done best in a safe and familiar home environment, not here in the practice.
